SmartRentOnline.com is a website where property management companies, landlords, and tenants can log in and collect (or pay) rents and other real estate related fees.

For property management companies and landlords, SmartRentOnline offers the following functionalities:

• Set up bank account that will be used for online rent collection
• Set up property information (property complex, apartment, or house)
• Update tenant information (name, email, and phone number)
• Set up rent information (amount, schedule, late fee, and late status notification)
• Monitor the rent collection status report
• Review payment history of tenants

For tenants, SmartRentOnline offers the following functionalities:

• Make one-time payment of rent from checking account
• Set up automatic payment from checking account
• View current balance and payment history
• Set up email notification on upcoming dues and updates on rent payments

Based in Fremont, CA, SmartRentOnline has launched its Beta program in October of 2008.

Lloyd Lim
Founder & President

Lloyd Lim has strong passion for delivering innovative products to the market and is dedicated to providing the best customer experience through SmartRentOnline. While working as a business consultant, he was traveling all the time and it was not easy for him to keep track of when his apartment rent was due and to pay it on time. He couldn't find any existing service that would solve this problem. In January 2006, Lloyd decided to build a web service where tenants and property managers can pay and collect rent online. Lloyd was able to build a strong team with rich knowledge and experience in eCommerce website development and started Smart Rent Online Inc. in January of 2007.

Lloyd received Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from University of California, Berkeley, with Management of Technology (MOT) Certificate.
